TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

1. Tournament Start Time: The gyms will be open by 7:15am. Warm-ups will be begin at 7:45am and the first matches will begin at 8:00am.

2. Coaches Meeting: There will be an optional coaches’ meeting at 7:40 in the east lobby outside of the HS gym. If you have questions please locate Darin Swenson, Site Manager. Please make sure that your team is aware of the schedule and is ready to play on time.

3. Pool Play: 5 team pools will play 2 games to 21 (cap of 23) in pool play matches. In each match there will be 1 Match Point awarded. The point will be earned in the following way. Each set won during the match will be worth 1 Set Point. A third Set Point will be award for whoever has the greatest rally point total. Whoever earns more of these Set Points will win the Match Point. LIBEROS can serve.

4. Seeding:

12s Tournament - Seeding within pools will be based on total Match Points earned during pool play. 2-way ties will be broken by head to head results. 3-way ties will be broken by Set Points earned (3 Set Points per match); if still tied, by total rally point spread; if still tied, coin flip. Gold Division - all #1 seeds and the highest #2 seed as determined by total Match Points earned during pool play. If two or more #2 seeds are tied, the tie will be broken by Set Points earned (3 Set Points per match); if still tied, by total rally point spread. If there is still a tie, it will be decided by coin flip. Silver Division - remaining #2 seeds and the top two #3 seeds as determined by same criteria. Bronze Division - remaining #3 seed and the three #4 seeds from each pool. NOTE: #5 seeds from each pool will NOT move on to tournament play.

5. Tournament Play: Tournament play will begin as soon as possible following pool play. All matches in tournament play will be best 2 of 3 to 25, with the 3rd game to 15 if necessary. No cap during tournament play. Medals will be award to 1st and 2nd in Gold Division, 1st in Silver Division, and 1st in Bronze Division.

6. Warm-ups: All teams will have 10 minutes (2-4-4) of warm-up prior to their first match. All other matches will have 5 minutes (1-2-2) of warm-up. There will be no shared serving time, so team serving must be done during each teams individual court time. Warm-ups will remain at 5 minutes in tournament play.

7. Volleyballs: Game balls will be provided, but please bring your own warm-up balls. NO WARM-UP BALLS will be provided. All volleyballs should stay in the gym. Please do not let your teams or fans use volleyballs in the hallways or lobbies.

8. Officiating: To help control pace of play and enforcement of rules, a coach must serve as 1st or 2nd official (1st official for 12s division). Please make sure that your officiating team is focusing on their job (no cellphones or MP3 players).

9. Concession Stand: There will be a concession stand available in the High School south lobby for the entire duration of the tournament and will provide food choices for all times of the days. Please support the concession stand. NO OUTSIDE TEAM COOLERS PLEASE!

10. Team Camps: With the large number of teams in the school for the tournament space will be limited. Please do not allow teams to set up team camps in the concession stand lobby area or main hallways. Please have teams periodically clean up team camps and make a final attempt before you leave for the day. Also, clean up the bench areas after all matches. Thank you.

11. Locker Rooms: The HS girls’ locker room will be open for use all day. The MS locker rooms will be locked.

12. Directions: Entering Litchfield from…

Highway 12 from the East – take a right on to Sibley Ave/Hwy 12, continue through town, turn right onto E. 10th St.

Highway 12 from the North – take a left onto E. 10th St. shortly after the Dairy Queen.

County Rd. 24 from St. Cloud – take a left after the John Deere Dealership onto N. Armstrong Ave., then take a left onto E. 10th St.
