The Hutchinson JO Volleyball Board is busy preparing for the upcoming 2020-2021 JO season. We wanted to get the word out on some important dates and information for those of you who may be interested in Hutchinson JO Volleyball.
Informational/Parents Meeting is October 26 – The Informational/Parents Meeting has been scheduled for Monday, October 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hutchinson Recreation Center. This meeting will be mainly for our 12’s and 14’s players and parents and potentially new families to our program. Families within our 15/16’s and 17/18’s programs are welcomed to attend as well as we address what the season will look like in 2021 with COVID-19. We have rented the gym space to ensure everyone can properly social distance. We would ask that you please wear face masks to this meeting. It will strictly be an informational meeting on the upcoming season. We will be talking about what is new for 2021, the tryout and registration process, schedules, and coaches for the upcoming season. It is highly recommended that both players and parents attend this meeting.
New for 2021 – For one year only, we will be offering a 17/18’s program. With the shortened JO season last year and the shorter/shortened high school season this year, the Hutchinson JO Program wanted to provide an avenue for senior girls to play additional volleyball in 2021. Our Program will be open to any and all girls in grades 4 through 12 in 2021. We will also continue to not limit our membership to Hutchinson students only. Know someone from out of town who is looking for a new experience? Encourage them to check us out. We will also continue to provide a “program t-shirt” to all girls who make a team. This t-shirt is included in the program costs you pay.
We have also changed some of our program costs for the upcoming season. Please note that our 12’s program cost will be $300 and our 14’s program cost will be $450. This is a $50 and $100 increase from the 2020 season.
One other change for 2021 is that we are no longer allowing 7th and 8th Graders to “try up”. 7th and 8th Graders will not be allowed to try out for our 15/16’s or 17/18’s programs.
Tryouts for 15/16’s and 17/18’s Teams is November 1 – Tryouts for these teams have been scheduled for Sunday, November 1 at the Hutchinson Recreation Center. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. on November 1. Tryouts will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Once again we are asking people to register for tryouts in advance. There is a $25 (nonrefundable) registration fee if you register online in advance of tryouts (by the end of day on October 30). There is a $30 (nonrefundable) registration fee the day of tryouts. For those girls who played in our fall friendly league and did not ask for a refund, their tryout fee has already been paid. Registration for tryouts will open within the next week or two and we will email you the link to register once it is open.
Tryouts for our 14’s Teams is November 14, 15 and 22 – We are doing something a little different this year for our 14’s teams tryouts. Tryouts will be conducted over 3 days. Tryouts for these teams have been scheduled for November 14, 15 and 22 at the Hutchinson Recreation Center. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. on November 14 with registration set for 2:40 p.m. Tryouts for our 14’s teams will be from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. all three days. We are once again asking people to register for tryouts in advance. There is a $30 (nonrefundable) registration fee if you register online in advance of tryouts (by the end of day on November 12). There is a $35 (nonrefundable) registration fee the day of tryouts. Registration for tryouts will open within the next week or two and we will email you the link to register once it is open.
Team Registration Opens November 2 – Team registration will open this year after tryouts. The registration link will become available on November 2 for all programs. The 15/16’s and 17/18’s programs deadline to register will be by the end of the day on November 7. The 14’s players are asked not to register until tryouts are done on November 22. The 12’s and 14’s program deadline for registration will be by the end of the day on November 29. Just a reminder that our 12’s program does not have tryouts. Our 12’s teams will be assigned after the first couple of weeks of practice.
