Hutchinson JO Volleyball Parents and/or Prospective Parents:

Thank you to those of you who attended our informational meeting. We are grateful for the response we received from those of you who are interested in our program. We know there was a lot of information shared at that meeting and that there were several of you who were unable to make the meeting due to scheduling conflicts. Because of this, we wanted to follow up with everyone on some important information, reminders, and dates to keep in mind.

Tryouts for 15/16’s and 17/18’s Teams will be Sunday, November 14 – Tryouts for these teams have been scheduled for Sunday, November 14 at the Hutchinson Recreation Center. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. with check-in beginning at 12:40 p.m. on November 14. Tryouts will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There is a $25 (nonrefundable) registration fee. Registration must be done online in advance of tryouts (by the end of day on Wednesday, November 10). THERE IS NO AT THE DOOR REGISTRATION THIS YEAR. Tryouts for our 14’s Teams is November 14 and 21 – Tryouts for our 14’s teams will take place over two days and have been scheduled for November 14 and 21 at the Hutchinson Recreation Center. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. on November 14 with check-in set for 2:40 p.m. Tryouts for our 14’s teams will be from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days. There is a $25 (nonrefundable) registration fee. Team Registration Opens November 15th – Team registration will open this year after tryouts. The registration link will become available on November 15th for all programs. The 15/16’s and 17/18’s programs deadline to register will be by the end of the day on November 21. The 14’s players are asked not to register until tryouts are done on November 21. The 12’s and 14’s program deadline for registration will be by the end of the day on November 28. Just a reminder that our 12’s program does not have tryouts. Our 12’s teams (we will likely have 2 teams) will be assigned after the first couple weeks of practice. For those interested in our 12’s program, please do not register for tryouts.

Team Deposits and Commitment Letter – Again this year, the Hutchinson JO Volleyball is requiring those girls who tryout for our 14’s, 15/16’s and 17/18’s teams to put a team deposit down after tryouts along with signing a letter of commitment. The deposit and commitment letter will guarantee your spot with your team. The deposit is $150 and a copy of the commitment letter can be found under our tryouts section on this website. Our 12’s program will have a $100 deposit upon registration, but no commitment letter will be required.

Volunteer Check, Uniform Fitting and Apparel Sizing – We once again are requiring a $90 volunteer check (returnable) for each player in our program. The volunteer check will be due at team placement and upon signing the letter of commitment for our 14’s, 15/16’s and 17/18’s programs (November 14 or November 21). Uniform fitting and apparel sizing will also take place that same night. The volunteer check, uniform fitting, and apparel sizing will take place with our 12’s program at their first day of practice (uniform fitting may be done earlier at a date/time TBD). The volunteer check will be returned to you once you fill your obligation at the Tiger Jam Tournament.

Scholarship Program – Once again this year, the Hutchinson JO Volleyball club is offering scholarships to eligible families. Please check out our tryouts page for the application.

2022 Schedules and Tournaments – We are planning on going back to a pre-COVID-19 schedule. Practice will start in early January, and we are currently planning on having every team play in two tournaments in February, two tournaments in March, and two tournaments in April. Our Annual Tiger Jam tournament will be April 9 & 10 this year and will be hosting the tournaments at the High School and Rec Center here in Hutchinson. Generally, we will have our competition schedules finalized by the middle of December. We will get schedules out to everyone once they are completed.

While we don’t know what our competition schedules will look like yet, we do know what our practice schedule will be. Our 15/16’s and 17/18’s teams will practice on Monday and Wednesday nights from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Hutchinson Rec Center. Our 12’s team will practice on Sunday afternoons from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday nights from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Rec Center as well. Our 14’s teams will practice on Sunday afternoons from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Rec Center and Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at New Century Academy in Hutchinson. Practices will start in early January for all our programs. Our season will go through the end of April/beginning of May.
