Follow Up from Information Meeting

Hutchinson JO Volleyball Parents and/or Prospective Parents:

Thank you to those of you who attended our informational meeting on Sunday. We are grateful for the response we received from those of you who are interested in our program. We know there was a lot of information shared at the meeting on Sunday and that there were several of you who were unable to make the meeting due to scheduling conflicts. Because of this, we wanted to follow up with everyone on some important information, reminders, and dates to keep in mind. PLEASE NOTE THE EARLY TEAM PLACEMENT DATES FOR OUR 12'S PROGRAM.

Tryouts for 15/16’s and 17/18’s Teams will be Sunday, November 13 – Tryouts for these teams have been scheduled for Sunday, November 13 at the Hutchinson Recreation Center. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. with check-in beginning at 11:40 a.m. on November 13. Tryouts will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. for the 17/18's team and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for the 15/16's team. There is a $25 (nonrefundable) registration fee. Registration must be done online in advance of tryouts (by the end of day on Sunday, November 6). THERE IS NO AT THE DOOR REGISTRATION. Tryouts for our 14’s Teams and Team Placement Days for our 12's program are October 30 and November 6 – Tryouts for our 14’s teams will take place over two days and have been scheduled for October 30 and November 6 at the Hutchinson Recreation Center. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. on October 30 with check-in set for 1:40 p.m. Tryouts for our 14’s teams will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on October 30 and from 2:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. on November 6. There is a $25 (nonrefundable) registration fee. Registration must be done online in advance of tryouts (by the end of day on Sunday, October 23). THERE IS NO AT THE DOOR REGISTRATION. We do not do tryouts for our 12's program, but we are doing "Team Placement Days" for the 2023 season. These team placement days will take place at the same time and location of our 14's tryouts. There is a $25 registration fee. That fee will go towards your program cost if you accept your team placement. It is a nonrefundable fee for those players who don't accept their team placement. Registration must be done online in advance of tryouts (by the end of day on Sunday, October 23). Team Registration Opens November 14th – Team registration will open this year after tryouts. The registration link will become available on November 14th for all programs. More information on registration will be available after tryouts and team placements. Please note that players must go through the tryout process or team placement process to register for a program.

Team Deposits and Commitment Letter – Again this year, the Hutchinson JO Volleyball is requiring those girls who tryout for our 14’s, 15/16’s and 17/18’s teams to put a team deposit down after tryouts along with signing a letter of commitment. The deposit and commitment letter will guarantee your spot with your team. The deposit is $150 and a copy of the commitment letter can be found on our events page. Our 12’s program will have a $75 deposit upon registration, but no commitment letter will be required.

Volunteer Check, Uniform Fitting and Apparel Sizing – We once again are requiring a $90 volunteer check (returnable) for each player in our program. The volunteer check will be due at team placement and upon signing the letter of commitment for our 14’s, 15/16’s and 17/18’s programs (November 6 or November 13). Uniform fitting and apparel sizing will also take place that same night. The volunteer check, uniform fitting, and apparel sizing will take place with our 12’s program after their team placements on November 6. The volunteer check will be returned to you once you fill your obligation at the Tiger Jam Tournament.

Scholarship Program – Once again this year, the Hutchinson JO Volleyball club is offering scholarships to eligible families. Additional information on this program can be found on our events page.

2023 Schedules and Tournaments – Practice will start in early January, and we are currently planning on having every team play in at least 5 to 7 tournaments this year. Our Annual Tiger Jam tournament will be April 1 & 2 this year and will be hosting the tournaments at the High School and Rec Center here in Hutchinson. Generally, we will have our competition schedules finalized by the middle of December. We will get schedules out to everyone once they are completed.

While we don’t know what our competition schedules will look like yet, we do know what our practice schedule will be. Our 15/16’s and 17/18’s teams will practice on Monday and Wednesday nights from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Hutchinson Rec Center. Our 12’s team will practice on Sunday afternoons from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday nights from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Rec Center as well. Our 14’s teams will practice on Sunday afternoons from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Rec Center and Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Middle School in Hutchinson. Practices will start in early January for all our programs. Our season will go from mid to late April. For those of you who have religion on Wednesday nights, yes you can still participate in our program. Our coaches are flexible. Just make sure you properly communicate with them at the start of the season about your Wednesday nights.
