Coming to the informational meeting on Thursday (October 25)? Here is some information to know.
The informational meeting for the upcoming 2018-2019 season has been set for Thursday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Commercial Building meeting room at the McLeod County Fairgrounds. It is highly recommended that both players and parents attend the informational meeting. Here is a tentative agenda for that meeting:
- 7:30 - 7:45 p.m. -- Apparel/Uniform Fitting and Update of Contact Information
- 7:45 - 8:00 p.m. -- Welcome/Introduction to Hutchinson JO Volleyball (Costs and time expectations)
- 8:00 - 8:15 p.m. -- What is new for 2019
- 8:15 - 8:30 p.m. -- Explanation of Tryouts and Team Placements/Coaches
- 8:30 - 8:45 p.m. -- Walk through of online registration system/Deadlines
- 8:45 - 9:00 p.m. -- Questions/Wrap Up
Tryouts for the 14's, 15/16's and 17's teams (7th -- 11th graders) will be one day this year. The tryout has been scheduled for Sunday, November 11 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hutchinson Rec Center. The procedure to be used for selecting teams will be explained at the informational meeting on October 25. Tryouts for the 15/16 and 17's teams will begin right away at 1 p.m. that day with tryouts for the 14's Team starting around 2:30 p.m.
2019 Tiger Jam Tournaments. We have scheduled our Tiger Jam Tournaments for the first two weekends in April. Tentatively, the 15/16's and 17's Tournament will be April 6 & 7. The 12's and 14's Tournament has tentatively been scheduled for April 13 & 14. Both tournaments will take place at the Rec Center. Information on volunteer requirements will be discussed on Thursday.
Tentative Practice Schedule for the Upcoming Season
12's -- Sundays (12:30-2:30 p.m.) and Wednesdays (6:15-7:45 p.m.)
14's -- Sundays (12:30-2:30 p.m.) and Thursdays (6:30-8 p.m.)
15/16's & 17's -- Mondays and Wednesday (7-9 p.m.)
Board Members Still Wanted
We are still looking for additional board members and are specifically looking for anyone who may have a player on the 12's or 14's teams. If interested, please email Hutchinson JO Volleyball at

Registration is expected to open the evening of October 25 after the informational meeting. Scholarships are available for those who are eligible. The deadline for the application is by the end of day on October 31. Those parents who apply for a scholarship will be notified prior to any registration deadlines.
